To The Manor Born reading retreat 8 - 10 March, 2027
Good books are best shared, a curated reading retreat in the Tasmania countryside.
Over 3 days and 2 nights at Calstock Estate — a privately owned one hundred and ninety five year old Georgian estate on the Meander River, with the Great Western Tiers rising in the distance — we're gathering a small circle of readers, writers and wanderers to do very little, very well: read, breathe, walk, talk books late into the evening, and let a few new friendships arrive uninvited.
Tucked away in our manor with acres of gardens, winding paths and courtyards designed for lounging, retreat guests will have exclusive use of the entire property during their stay. Pull up a lounger under the weeping willow and retreat into your book without a care in the world. Pimms Cup anyone?
What to expect.
At our private manor, you’ll be cared for with:
Comfortable accommodations in the countryside with gardens to wander and plenty of cozy nooks to retreat into
Continental breakfasts, a mix of chef-prepared and restaurant meals
Airport transfers to and from Launceston Airport
A welcoming retreat host to take care of all the details
Optional activities such as a wine tasting and lunch, forest bathing and a local village market visit
Uninterrupted reading time, cozy spaces to relax, and 36 acres of gardens and private property to wander
Salons of literary discussion bring you into contact with special guests and big ideas, all in a setting where the outside world simply falls away.
A curated reading list is ready for you on arrival and comprises seven enchanting and thought-provoking reads that can be read entirely or dipped into on retreat.
Our flexible itinerary is designed to balance relaxation and adventure. You choose how much (or how little) you want to do.
